Metallic gold with dragon image on side done on the Esprit mold. This model celebrates the Year of the Dragon. Finished in metallic gold, it features an ornate Chinese dragon on its side. In Chinese astrology, the Dragon is a symbol of good fortune and divine power, and it is the only mythological beast to appear on the Chinese calendar. Jan 2012 - Feb 2013 celebrates the first Dragon appearance since the start of the 21st century. This beautiful piece is on a decorative base which has a descriptive stamp on the underside featuring the model's name and year. Made by Breyer as a Limited Edition in 2012 only.

Attention and thought went into every detail, the flying pose with lifted head, and the horse is neighing, to herald the beginning of a new century. The twisted bridle holds three jewels that tie into the vintage blue ribbon Breyer Animal Creations logo. The first Breyer carousel horse, this stunning sculpture is made of fine bisque porcelain, and is hand decorated and embellished with gold accents and genuine Swarovski crystals. It sits gently atop an elegant wooden music box, which plays the timeless Carousel Waltz. Measures 12" L x 13" H. Made by Breyer as a Limited Edition in 2000 only. British artist George Stubbs (1724-1806) is best known for his realistic paintings of horses. Stubbs devoted much time to studying the anatomy his equine subjects, and gained strong support from members of the aristocracy for his accurate renditions of horses. Stubbs' oil painting Whistlejacket was commissioned by the 2nd Marquess of Rockingham, and is of Rockingham's race horse. Today, the impressive 9.5’ high painting resides at the National Gallery in London. Made by Breyer 2013-2014 only.
