Vintage Silver Royal Shaped Browband Western Headstall Narrow Gaited Arabian Western Headstall Western Bridle with Silver Dark Brown Silver Royal Shaped browband style western headstall features fancy engraved silver concho center with engraved silver rosettes, & adjusts on top of crown only. Stamped Silver Royal & numbers 61108(?), leather is doubled & stitched 3/8" wide quality leather. Largest headstall adjustment is 40" & smallest is 35 1/2" but more holes were punched to make smaller, just gives you a longer tail. Removed 1 bridle rosette to see is silver was stamped, but did not see any markings. Looks like sterling overlay or possibly Alpaca silver made in Mexico. This is an older piece, very nice quality, much better than current Silver Royal items! Throatlatch leather is a bit stiffer with some surface cracking, otherwise leather is supple. 1 rosette has a dent in center of flower(see photo) & keeper on top of crown is pulled loose(see photo). Dr Cook's Bitless Bridle Leather Western Headstall Western Bridle Black L Horse/Warmblood Dr Robert Cook The Bitless Bridle works on an entirely different concept from all other types of bridles. A bitted bridle enables the rider to communicate by applying pressure on the exquisitely sensitive mouth. The traditional bitless bridles (i.e., the Hackamores, bosals and sidepulls) work primarily through pressure on the nose. The Bitless Bridle allows the rider to communicate by painless pressure that is distributed around the whole of the head. Whereas a bit often applies harsh pressure to the mouth, over a small area, The Bitless Bridle distributes its gentle pressure to far less sensitive tissues and distributes evenly this amount of pressure over a wide area. It does this through two loops, one over the poll and one over the nose. Essentially, it gives the rider an inoffensive and benevolent method of communication by applying a nudge to one half of the head (for steering) or a hug to the whole of the head (for stopping). Because The Bitless Bridle exerts minimal pressure and spreads this over a large and less critical area, it is more humane than a bit. It provides better communication, promotes a true partnership between horse and rider, and does not interfere with either breathing or striding. As a result, performance is improved. Has leather overlay on noseband, doubled & stitched browband & single ply 5/8" leather everywhere else. Conchos with leather ties at ends of browband.
