Vintage Tooled Leather Hooded Childs Western Stirrups Single Wooden Western Stirrup with Laced & Tooled Tapadero Brown Monkey Nose Monkey Face Tapaderos Vintage single childrens wooden western stirrup with tooled leather “hood” or tapadero covering front/sides of stirrups to keep feet from sliding through & becoming stuck, & also protects against hitting brush or branches. This is a safety feature & recommended for children & youth beginner riders. Called a Monkey Nose or Monkey Face which is seen when looking at it straight on(see photo), it is laced down center with white leather lacing. Stirrup neck measures 2 1/2” & tread is approx 4” & wrapped in soft suede. Tooled with large calla lilly looking flower & leaves, it has 4 stamped/tooled leather conchos & light colored leather string ties. Made of a poly resin, they have 1" high foam pad blocks inside the treads. 2 1/8” neck, 5 1/4” tread, & 4” wide. Helps stop numbness on long rides.
