Vintage Tooled Leather Hooded Childs Western Stirrups Single Wooden Western Stirrup with Laced & Tooled Tapadero Brown Monkey Nose Monkey Face Tapaderos Vintage single childrens wooden western stirrup with tooled leather “hood” or tapadero covering front/sides of stirrups to keep feet from sliding through & becoming stuck, & also protects against hitting brush or branches. This is a safety feature & recommended for children & youth beginner riders. Called a Monkey Nose or Monkey Face which is seen when looking at it straight on(see photo), it is laced down center with white leather lacing.
