Vintage Round Braided Leather Western Bridle Round Plaited Western Headstall Split Reins Dark Brown Horse Round braided browband style western headstall with cheeks that adjust on both sides with button stops, braided buttons with sliding keepers at bit ends, reinforced where bit sits, & is a no throatlatch style. Looks like it is hand braided over a rope core. Crown & cheeks are made with 2 rows of 1/4" leather, & 3/8" round braided browband. Measures approx 42" as adjusted now in center adjustment with room to make smaller or larger. Comes with matching round braided split reins approx 3/8"-1/2" wide, slightly over 6' long, & has a sliding braided leather keeper. Some stretching has made reins different widths in many areas. Tail ends of reins are stiff & cracking. Maker & age unknown, truely a vintage piece as it came from elderly man who trained horses 40+ yrs ago. Some wear & stretching to leather in places, but should still be usable. Note: the cheeks on this twist, i.e. don’t lie flat with bit concho facing outward. This should not be a problem when a bit is used, but is noticeable when lying flat.
