Weaver Leather Western Split Reins Western Reins 5/8" x 7' Honey
Weaver Leather #20-0327-HY
Western split reins with fancy Chicago screw ends, 5/8" wide x 7' long, with rubbed & darkened edges. New reins with tag, but stored badly so there are kinks, & lots of darkened or discolored areas. Reins are still flexible, but would need conditioning & hanging to get them to drape well in your hands. These are no longer available from Weaver. New similar reins retail for over $50.

Weaver Leather? Triple E?
3/4” nylon western split reins with southwestern print overlay on 6" of reins, almost 7' long, & conway buckles at ends. Clean, some corrosion to conway buckles. Brand unknown but similar to Weaver or Triple E. Matches tiedown noseband TDNB28.

Hillason? Showman? Single Western Rein Silver Studs Replacement Split Rein Nickel Studs Brown 3/4" x 5 1/2'
Hillason? Showman?
3/4" wide SINGLE western split rein with silver studs, doubled & stitched with contrast stitching on 1st 18” of rein, measures approx 5 1/2' long, has scored, rubbed & darkened edges, & fancy star Chicago screw at bit end. Brand unknown but similar to Hillason or Showman. Matches headstall WHS251 but since we only have the 1 rein, did not want to sell as a set. Use as a replacement rein or convert to a pony sized roping/gaming rein.

Billy Royal?
5/8” flat leather western split reins with scalloped or shaped doubled leather on ends near bit & fancy Chicago screws at bit ends. Single ply leather but stitched entire length. 6 1/2' long. Came in with a vintage possibly Billy Royal headstall(see WHS357) & is a close but not an exact color match but the same quality. Supple leather that flows in your hands.

5/8” light oil bridle leather western split reins with darkened edges, doubled & stitched for the 1st 14” of reins, a little over 7' long, fancy engraved "silver" conchos, & scalloped or shaped leather at bit ends. Nice enough for show, quality enough to hold up to work. Brand unknown but quality similar to Tory, Tex Tan, Circle Y, Weaver, etc.

Western Reins Snap Ends Western Split Reins Snaps 3/4” x 6' Leather Reins Brown
3/4” leather western split reins with 1st 21” doubled & stitched with white contrast stitching & sewn in brass snaps at bit ends, & a little over 6' long. 1 rein end looks cut off so reins are uneven by about 8". Brand unknown but similar to Tory, Circle Y, etc. Leather is soft & in great used condition but does have chew marks on 1 rein that do not weaken the rein, & is more a chestnut color than other rein.

Quality harness leather reins with water loop ends, 1/2” wide x 8' long. Soft, flexible, quality leather with rubbed edges. Brand unknown but came in with a Martin Saddlery harness leather headstall although this piece is not marked. These are soo supple but have dark marks on bit ends from contact with bit.

Tory Leather
5/8” chestnut bridle leather western split reins with darkened edges, almost 7' long, fancy Chicago screws at bit ends. Stamped Tory. Both reins have a small area about 4-5" from bit end that looks like horse mouthed or nibbled on. Leather is not damaged, just kind of wrinkled(see photo). Also a few darkened areas or spots, but leather is supple.

These braided or plaited leather western split reins will be a favorite to use for pleasure, trail, work or gaming. These attach to the bit with scissor/trigger snaps, have a braided leather sliding keeper to hold your reins together & has tasseled ends. Measures approx 3/8" in diameter x 6' long. Looks like 4 plait braiding. Brand unknown. Hardly used, still had sticker remnants on trigger snap, leather is supple, snaps work well although minor corrosion from storage.

Western split reins with 5" long engraved silver trim, 5/8" wide x almost 6' long, with square cut edges. Leather is supple & drapes well in your hands. Brand unknown. Silver looks like quality silver, is not cheapie silver, but is not marked. Shorter length would make this a nice show rein for ponies. Some discoloration to leather, but it may be in the hide.
