In this tape John is working with an Arabian gelding while demonstrating how to clip a horse's ears. Through viewing this tape and following the lesson plan John outlines, anyone could successfully master ear clipping their horse. Important information given, such as: Teaching your horse to stand still without a halter and lead, to accept grooming and clipping without restraint. Teaching a cue to ask your horse to come back to you if he/she runs off or walks away. Teaching your horse to drop its head to the elevation needed for easier ear clipping and bridling. Teaching your horse to stop head tossing while you're working around its head. Use the same method for washing your horse's face. Teaching your horse to accept pressure on his/her poll – this would save horses that pull back or panic if they step on their reins, etc. Teaching the horse to accept blanketing so well that they actually come for the blanket to be put over their head without unbuckling. 60 minutes.
