4 3/4” & 5" Billy Allen Reining Bit Copper Roller Curb Bit Western Curb Bit

Snaffle mouthpiece with a 1 1/4” long thick copper roller center &8 3/4" loose cheeks. The Billy Allen mouthpiece is named for the legendary horseman. A roller covers the snaffle joint to stiffen the mouthpiece while still allowing some flexibility. The roller also acts as a pacifier for the anxious colt. This is an excellent tool for progressing the colt from the snaffle to the solid mouthpiece. A great, perfectly balanced show bit, constructed of polished stainless steel. Comes with connector chain(slightly rusty).

This is a "do it yourself” bit. Approx 4 1/2” sweet iron chain mouth with 6 3/4” shanks. Mouthpiece is just stuck into shanks, so you are buying this to repair or replace the mouthpiece. DO NOT USE AS IS. Black steel is untreated so it does rust, but some horses prefer the rust as it promotes a moist & responsive mouth. Some rust on shanks where chain meets them.

5” 3 pc sweet iron jointed snaffle bit with smooth dog bone & copper roller center link, & 6” shanks. Snaffle rein ring on side for direct pull, so can be used with 1 or 2 reins. One of the most popular shanks for training when leaving the ring snaffle and applying some curb pressure. Mouthpiece bends over the bars at a greater angle than a solid or 2 pc mouthpiece, allowing contact to new nerves for better control. Copper roller can help calm a nervous horse & add some light tongue pressure for a better head set. Sweet iron is untreated steel so has rusted, but some horses prefer it as it promotes a moist & responsive mouth.

Vintage Quick Bits Quick Bit Aluminum Curb Bit Copper Roller Ported Western Curb Bit

Vintage curb bit with nickel/brass alloy ported mouthpiece with copper cricket or roller, loose 6 7/8" aluminum shanks that have steel loose rein rings & connector bar. Mouthpiece measures 4 3/4" inside shanks. Port is approx 1 1/2" from top to bottom of mouthpiece & has a loose textured copper roller or cricket with a small loose copper ring on either side of roller. Quick stamped on inside of 1 shank. Minor corrosion on mouthpiece, minor pitting/corrosion & dirt on shanks & rein rings are rusty. Looks very hand made with the variety of metals used but overall is in very good vintage condition.

Trammell 5 1/4” Four Rein Bit 3 Piece Copper Roller Dog Bone Short Shank 4 Rein Western Snaffle Bit

This is not marked Trammell, but this bit is a "Four Rein Bit” with a 5 1/4" 3 pc snaffle mouthpiece with dog bone center link with copper wrapped roller & 5" shanks. Comes with a pair of black rubber bit guards. The 3 piece snaffle with a textured copper roller is great for a busy mouthed horse. When used with 4 reins, the top rein is used to secure the head while it is being pulled around with one rein. A hard to find bit. Stainless steel coated as it reacts lightly to a magnet. Some light dirt to rubber bit guards otherwise it is in excellent used condition.
