Braided Rawhide Nose Braided Leather Bosal Hackamore
Bosal is braided natural colored rawhide, approx 5/8" nose & sides, with spaces for the headstall to sit. Interior measurement is approx 11 1/2” top to bottom & 5 1/4” side to side at headstall slots, with approx 1 3/4” ball or heel knot at base. Rawhide nose is a slightly rougher texture & looks like 8 plaits, with approx 4 plait sides, & bosal is mostly stiff yet slightly flexible. Use for training or showing. Discoloration to inside surfaces from contact with horse & headstall.

Custom Made Flat Braided Poly Cord Over Flat Steel Noseband Hackamore Handmade Black Steel Shanks Mechanical Hackamore Bit
Sweet Iron Untreated Black Steel
Sweet iron or untreated black steel shanks on this custom or handmade mechanical hackamore with flat braided poly cord over flat steel noseband & matching braided poly cord connector strap. Shanks are approx 8" long. Brand or maker unknown, was told owner thought this was custom made, but it is hand made. A few minor rust spots on shanks, but it was never used. Poly cord inside nose is spotless.

Vintage? Blue Ribbon Custom Braided Rawhide Bosal Braided Leather Bosal Hackamore Arabian Bosal
Blue Ribbon Custom Tack
Bosal of natural colored rawhide with burgundy black accents on nose & heel knot, plain natural braided sides, measures approx 1” at widest spot on nose with approx 1 3/4” heart shaped ball or heel knot at base. Interior measurement is approx 11” top to bottom & 5” side to side. Has braided in headstall stops. Sides as flexible, braiding on nose are tight small braids, sides & heel knot are larger, & there is a small braided sliding keeper just above heel knot. Has some staining to insides from contact with horse. Owner believes this was a Blue Ribbon brand bosal she had done for her Arabian many years ago. Excellent for showing, this is a quality piece, nose is soft, while sides are only slightly rougher. Does not seem to react to a magnet so no steel core.

Braided Rawhide Bosal Braided Leather Bosal Hackamore White/Black
Bosal of white natural colored rawhide with black accents on nose, headstall stops, & heel knot, plain braided sides, measures approx 1” at widest spot on nose with approx 1 3/4" x 2 1/4” heel knot at base. Interior measurement is approx 11” top to bottom & 6 1/2” side to side at headstall stops. Sides as flexible, braiding on nose are tight small braids, heel knot are larger/wider braids, & there is a small braided sliding keeper just above heel knot. Whole bosal is slightly rough/abrasive, not soft. New, never on a horse, it has some minor stainis to bottom sides by heel know & on 1 side of heeel knot. Not sure if came from manufacturer that way or from store handling. Excellent for showing. Does not seem to react to a magnet so no steel core. Brand unknown.

Adjustable Flat Nose Mechanical Hackamore Fleece Lined Flat Nose Hackamore Bit
Chrome Plated
The hackamore is very useful when a horse's mouth is sore, or if the demands of your sport require you to pull harder than is appropriate with a mouthpiece bit. The wide, flat leather noseband is more humane than thinner, rougher textured nosebands. Features 7 1/2” chrome plated shanks with a wide, flat adjustable leather noseband lined with fleece. Curb chain is included. Some rust spots on shanks, leather is supple yet has some stains & curb chain is rusty but flexes fine.
